However, it is important to note that zinc oxide eugenol cement has low strength compared to other cements and may disintegrate in oral fluids over time. Therefore, it is primarily used for temporary applications or as a base under more durable restorations. Its opaque appearance can be advantageous in masking underlying tooth discoloration.
